APCO AR APCO Arkansas

Hello APCO members.  During our State conference, April 16th thru April 18th, I had the privilege of being sworn in as the President of the Arkansas APCO chapter and Joshua Billis was elected as our Executive Council member.

If you weren’t able to attend the State conference, I’m sorry you missed it.  We had many great sessions and Colleen Nick spoke at the banquet.   Colleen made a great impact on all of us and everyone felt as if we already knew her since she is our neighbor.  After Colleen spoke, Josh challenged us to get 50% of the centers within the State of Arkansas to obtain National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) partnership by next years conferenced and also challenged the Arkansas members to become more involved with APCO overall.

We are already gearing up for the 2013 State Conference, which will be Monday April 14th through Wednesday April 17th at the DoubleTree in Little Rock again.  Please keep checking this website for updates.  We may have an extra day added with new types of sessions.

We all know that these are exciting times in the public safety communications industry.  Technology and advancements in our field are progressing at a rapid pace and we have the opportunity to take advantage of these advancements to provide the best emergency service for the citizens of Arkansas.
With all of your help we will keep working to make Arkansas APCO one of the best in the Country!

If there is anything I can do for you please don’t hesitate to contact me.  My contact information is in the Officer section of this website.
Thank you,
Mary Kay Sullivan, RPL

Very touching and sentimental montage of several departments around Arkansas, as seen and put together by MECA.  The following pic’s show many of our own, both in their “natural” element and as “professionals”.   Aptly orchestrated to the theme song “Calling All Angels”, which ties in the 2009 theme to most dispatchers’ opinions of their position.

Washington County pays tribute to individuals on both sides of the radio with these clips. Showcasing both the good and trying aspects of our collective jobs, this video hits closest to home.  There isn’t a one of us that will not experience some sense of déjà vu after seeing and listening.
